Elisabeth C. This lid holds the cover up and stops it sinking when it rains so keeps most of the water and debris out of the sand. Keeps it all clean for next playtime. Also keeps pets out. A great investment.

Looks so much nicer with the lid and safer with climbing toddlers as it’s sturdy

7 and 5 year oldsm I wish I HAD bought the 1.5 , but time will tell.
I think it was easy to construct and the pit is strong and the wood smooth. The under cloth looks good as it is wide enough to collect the sand which will inevitably spill out.

DB Really pleased we bought this lid to go with the sand pit - if its not raining, it works well to keep out any cats or foxes, and when raining, we put the sandpit cover underneath the lid and it works well to keep the cover in place and keep the sand dry.
